This online guide to writing children’s book has helped spark inspiration for writing my own children’s graphic novel. By combing my current knowledge of art styles and the distinctiveness of graphic novels, I am able to design a book that appeals to children.

Last year, I was introduced to a book called Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud. This was a great resource with detailed information on frame progressions, how humans view drawings, and how panels connect together to create a moving story. Although I used this book for my last ZIP project, there was still a lot of information I missed out on covering. Things like “The Six Steps” are important to the communication between drawings and readers.
